As with many things in life, there are sequels and remakes, but none holds a candle to the original.

ReplyDeleteHey Lass! I can think of a few successful low-budget horrors that were improved on a revisit (Texas Chainsaw, Hills Have Eyes), but yeah, in general I'm with you. The Halloween remake was truly dreadful. A humanised Myers? And Malcolm McDowell rather than Donnie Pleasance? I think not!

Sadly true. We often try to learn from past efforts and make them better. Yet sometimes we neglect to see that some things are just dandy how they are :)

I disagree with Pearl, but only so far as to say I thought "District 9" was good, as was "Malcolm 10." I was a little lost, though, since I hadn't seen the first ones in those series.
