None Holds A Candle

If kids come trick-or-treating to your door tonight, be sure to dress properly.

The original and best
And if you're going to watch Halloween before bedtime, may I please press you to John Carpenter's original 1978 classic?

As with many things in life, there are sequels and remakes, but none holds a candle to the original.

Happy Halloween.

  2. Hey Eolist! We don't properly do Halloween over here, but it's fun when they run screaming; everyone deserves one good scare on Halloween, right? Hope you had a goodie with the tornadoes.

Hey Lass! I can think of a few successful low-budget horrors that were improved on a revisit (Texas Chainsaw, Hills Have Eyes), but yeah, in general I'm with you. The Halloween remake was truly dreadful. A humanised Myers? And Malcolm McDowell rather than Donnie Pleasance? I think not!

    Thanks to you both! Indigo

  3. Sadly true. We often try to learn from past efforts and make them better. Yet sometimes we neglect to see that some things are just dandy how they are :)

  4. Never trust a movie with a number at the end of its title.

  5. Hey Robbie! It's a simple truth, but elusive. They'll remake Jaws one of these days. *shudders*

Hey Pearl! What, not even BREAKDANCE 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO?!

    Thanks folks! Indigo

  6. I disagree with Pearl, but only so far as to say I thought "District 9" was good, as was "Malcolm 10." I was a little lost, though, since I hadn't seen the first ones in those series.

Indigo, I wore my TIME LORD sweatshirt and was using my sonic screwdriver as a flashlight. Was that dressy enough?

  7. Hey Joshua, I think you could have gone for the Tom Baker look again, but anyone who wields a sonic screwdriver and makes "wiwiwiwiwiwiwi" noises is fine in my book. Indigo
