  1. 43. You're such a puppy.

I'm apparently overthinking everything right now and as a result, can't come up with a damn thing to write. I wonder if there are any ducks around...

    1. Hey Jayne! I know, 43 and never been kissed! Levi must be a great source of solace, though; I hope he's 100% again now. I'm a sucker for a big dumb dog, too; they never fail to make me happy. I'll raise a toast to you, and simpler thoughts, Indigo x

    2. Levi is my salvation. And yes, he's sound again. On his back is the only time I'm ever 100% present in the moment.

    3. Hi Jayne! I'm so glad he's better x

  2. Some days it makes sense to pack it in and go feed the ducks. It's called taking care of yourself. Good for you, Indigo! (You sweet young thing!)

    1. Hey Paula! I seem to be surrounded by impressionable-and-mature today; marvellous! Yes, 43, and quite the stallion of a man, I'm told (Don't listen to Bobby below, he lies). But yes, I find taking care of myself has become more of a necessity than it used to be, and I'm embracing it. Quack. Roth x

    2. And what would be wrong with hanging around in a dressing gown with a towel wrapped around your shoulders? As I said... taking care of yourself!

    3. Hey Paula! I think Young Bobby was implying that I was doing that on the day I moved out. It's like he's suggesting I;m some kind of SLACKER! *pfft*

  4. Paula got it right - it's taking care of yourself. Funny how hard it is to remember to do ...

    Hey, you ARE young!

    1. Hey Jen! Dammit, you're surprised?! Do I write like an Olde Crumbly? (TM, Pat Pending) So much for these vitamins. And yes, it's real important, but too easily a "I'll-do-it-tomorrow" task. I try to do it today. Indigo x

  5. I'd also like to point out that when you left University you were wearing a dressing gown with a towel around your shoulders. I have the photos to prove it.

    1. Bobby, Bobby! A pox on you and your bad memory. And deceitful camera. And deluded friends. It's all lies! I've no idea who you even are, and have never visited Aston University, Vauxhall Court, Flat 1. Damn. Roth

  6. You ARE young, and I'm glad you are still enthusiastic. Taking a little timeout as you did is good for a person in so many ways!

    1. Hey Nancy! I feel it, in all honesty. I grew up in a very selfish generation that mostly failed to grown up; we might call them the Video Game generation? See all the older geeks about? Fortysomething Star Wars fanboys? Trekkers? They're my lot. And wonderful folk they are. The world is doomed, however. Indigo x

    2. You do seem to have amassed quite the harem of older women as your fellow travelers, Indigo. Why do you suppose that is?

    3. Perhaps they enjoy my respectful countenance in a world that lacks respect for its elders?

  7. I used to feed the ducks in high school. I found that quiet time excellent for Muse.

    1. Hey Joshua! Yes, they do inspire as well as relax. Or did you mean Muse the band? You know, the fellas that did "My Quack-in Baby"? Roth

    2. I did not mean Muse the band. In fact, they played on Saturday Night Live last weekend. Can't say that I'm a fan.

  8. Perfect. Succinct and universal.

Ah, Indigo. To be a duck feeder is to know the need for quiet introspection. Love this.

  10. sometimes just being in touch with some form of nature lifts my spirits and renews my soul. And I always end up feeling better. I'm glad feeding the ducks made you feel upbeat and young again!

  12. Indigo, you are in the prime of your life, as am I. I feed my fish when I'm feeling down. It soothes me. That or writing graffiti on big white walls.

    1. Hey Ziva! Yes indeed, it can get pretty noisy in there if we don't let it out. I love standing by the sea. Or in it. Or swimming. Or being ten metres down on the Great Barrier Reef. Lovely, Indigo x

  15. The moon, the sea, standing on the back porch and listening to the rain fall through the leaves -- they all do it for me.

Nice post, Indigo Roth. But are your real name and your given name one and the same? One wonders.

    1. Hey Mike! I love the sound of rain falling through trees, especially if I'm under it in a tent or caravan; it's the sound of my youth. As for my name, what an odd question. My grandmother Juno chose my name as Indigo, in line with the family tradition of names. But that's another story. Indigo

    2. Indigo, Juno. An interesting reference to relatively obscure software. But I don't know anything about software, let alone names. I am a simpleton, set here on earth to entertain and provoke the villagers.

    3. Hey Mike! Oh, me too, totally. Now, we both need to avoid the crazy ones with pitchforks and torches, right? =)
