  1. LOL! I wasn't expecting that ending. Still chuckling.

    1. Hey Jaleh! I promise you, I never anticipate the ends, either; life is full of surprises. Indigo

  2. Aw... I love this. I'm sure King is all style and no substance and she will find this out and coming running back in time for dessert. ;)

    1. Hey Jayne! He's an ambassador and ridiculously good company. Still, I have some great things about me too; I mentioned them in my dating profile, in fact. Oh.

    1. Hey Vic! This is pretty much what happened; I don't think internet dating is for me. Nor lions. But thanks! Indigo

  4. Agree with Jayne. And besides, he'll get food stuck in his mane, and that will be just gross!

    1. Hey Britt! As an ambassador, King has been schooled in etiquette and sartorial sense. That said, he still steals my ties, the old rogue. Lovely to see you over here again! Indigo

  5. Not sure where this one vanished to, but I've printed and framed the mail, and I'm far too vain to let it go...

"Jesus, this is brilliantly written, and wonderfully sad. I'm glad Jayne referred me to your site. "

Mike, you are a man of wit and discretion! Thanks so much. I can't promise it all polishes up so shiny, but I'll do my damnedest. Indigo

  6. I remember this one. It was one of the first pieces I read and one which made me want to come back agan and track back through some - which became all I believe - of your back catalogue. I thought it was clever, inventive, funny and touching all in ine and it's the same reading it again.

I must admit I slightly fell for Abby myself through the blog. She's built a lovely picture in my mind over time, in no small part because of the bare feet and smell of summer!

    Nice one Indigo!

    1. Hey Alistair! Good grief man, you've read EVERYTHING? Including the Twitter archive?! You're in slim company indeed. And made of sterner stuff than me. Thanks for sticking with me. Abbey's hair colour changes weekly, but the bare feet do not; I consider her a free spirit. Tho never free when I ask her out. Indigo

    2. No not the twitter stuff I'm afraid. I've always shied away from it having seen mostly drivel in any feeds listed down the sides of blogs {and from hearing a blow by blow account of her life on twitter and facebook from my sister-in-law} I don't do face-pest either. I'm probably too gumpy for that........

    3. Hey, mine was culled from the cream of the interactions with Max/iDifficult, Eolist, Robbie and a fabulous lady from Cornflake, Arkansas called Fishoutofsea! (Hey Cara!) It was awesome, and occasionally drifted across the edge of sanity. Roth

  7. One day Abbey will come to her senses and throw King over in favor of you!

    1. Hey Boom Boom! I suspect I've long slipped into the dreaded "friend zone", but I have a feeling there will be more to this story. Stay tuned. Indigo x

  8. I love this one! Wonderfully written in a way to make you both smile and feel a little sad. I feel for you, man, I'm sorry the internet dating thing isn't working out. That said, do you think King would like to go on a date with me?

    1. Hey Ziva! I'd certainly aimed for "thoughtful" not "pining"/"miserable"/"angst", so thank you. I've not tried again since since this was originally published, and haven't missed it. As for King, I think he's still with Abbey, but the treacherous beast would almost certainly be interested. Especially if you're a zebra? No? Okay, I'll let him know you're an available non-eater. 2. Nope, not a zebra. But I am Finnish, if that helps?

    3. Finnish? Oh, almost certainly! I mean, who wouldn't want to date a lady Finn? =)

    4. Is this a rhetorical question? Because I can think of a few people.. ;)

    5. They're in denial, Ziva. Pity them.
